That’s what we did this weekend. It was perfect. It was the 3rd weekend in a row we really didn’t have much going on. I need and crave those weekends.
Friday night we went to El Charro’s with Mom and Dad. We hadn’t seen them in awhile so we had a good meal. Unfortunately my Dad caught the stomach bug that is going on late Friday night and was sick all weekend. And of course I panicked not wanting it and was afraid I would get it.
I slept in a little Saturday and Kody went to Caulfield with Brian to look at their hunting stuff. Who knows what they were looking at. When he got home we got ready and went to lunch. Many couples don’t always enjoy spending time together. Well, I can speak for myself that I love to be with KT. We have a good time together and never seem to run out of things to talk about. We drove around for awhile after lunch and then I went to a chocolate party and he went home to do homework.
I came home and helped him out and we made dinner plans with Casey and Tynn, a couple who moved to WP from Jackson. Casey was the first girl I really got to know in Jackson when Kody and I started dating 8 1/2 years ago. We had a GREAT time back in the day. We would swim at the Thompsons, she’d sleep over when I would visit, we’d shop, and we’d stay up late and talk and talk and talk some more. She is so fun! Tynn got transferred to WP to work and she’s actually going to work for my Dad. WHAT A SMALL WORLD! We had dinner with them that night and laughed the whole way through dinner. Then I drove them around town to show them spots they may not have seen. Can’t wait to get back together with them soon!
Sunday was a good day! Mark’s sermon was on mean Christians and it really spoke to everyone I think. Many people commented on it afterwards. I really enjoyed it. Sunday School was all about what men wish women knew about men…Pastor Adam Hamilton did a study of 1500 men, 1000 married and 500 single. The top 5 things were…
1. Admiration…and if we get into a tiff it seems to be because I don’t voice my support. WOW something to think about!
2. Listening and sharing…I was surprised by this, simply because I love to listen and share with him. HA, Kody said he didn’t think this one applied to him.
3. Family Support
4. Sexual Intimacy
5. Quality time doing things together…our favorite.
I meant to list the 4 things women wish men knew about women but didn’t have my book then…here are the 4…
1. Demonstrations of Affections
2. Demonstrations of Attentiveness
3. Demonstrations of Appreciation
4. Active Involvement with the Children and Home
Thoughts??? Do you agree?
After church a big group of us went to lunch and then Kody and I grocery shopped. We both took a short nap and then I made SIN dip for the Super Bowl. Oh my heavens was this stuff wonderful! I’m also happy to report that mine looked just like that one!
We went to the Land’s house for the game. There was quite a crowd but my favorite boys there were Luke & Drew. Luke wasn’t feeling himself, but Drew and I had a great time. It’s impossible to get a cell phone picture of these two.
These sweethearts will be 2 in two weeks. I can’t believe it!
Jarrod, the guy who was hosting, is hilarious. I mean anything he says I crack up. We live within a couple of miles of their house and last year when I was at the Women of Joy conference with his wife Sarah, they were texting each other to say if one of them needed back up to just go out and howl at the moon…and one of their names would be nigh hawk and then lone wolf. Well, Jarrod found these shirts (hilarious) at the Book Nook. He had Kody’s washed and ready to go when we got there. Of course it was a big joke, but I am still laughing at it. TOO funny! :)
Hope you all had a great weekend!

I totally know what you mean about craving downtime. I feel like those weekends are so incredibly rare and I try so much to cherish them when they happen! I'm so glad you got to have one. Those t-shirts at the end are seriously too much!! So funny!
