The Governor....

Governor Jay Nixon visited West Plains yesterday and spent some time at City Hall. I ran my little legs off yesterday morning preparing for his arrival. It was fun, I was working with 3 Highway Patrolmen, our fire chief, and one of his interns.

He flew down from Jefferson City and the intern had to drive. We had to figure out what the best door was for him to come in, get a private room ready for him to "prep" in and make sure everything was neat and tidy.

I will just say that I would love to be a higher ranked political intern. That would be the sweetest job to Me! You probably think I am crazy. I love political 'things' yet I am not very political myself, but ALWAYS vote. I don't care what's on the ballot, I will be there. I was most excited to vote when I turned 18! The President's intern would be sa-weet, but no I am not another Monica! In all seriousness though, all the hustle and bustle I love!

He was here to thank our firemen, police officers, and the EMT for responding to the tornado in Joplin. It was nice to see them recognized for that. He gave them each a leadership coin and shook their hands.

It also happens to be campaign year, so he's making his rounds. Still it was a fun, but tiring day!

So cool! One of my friends in college interned at the White House--he LOVED it! I think that's something I'd really be interested in too--perhaps in my next life! ;)
