December 10: A day of parades and parties

Saturday, December 10th Kody and I worked the West Plains Christmas parade. Our Chamber of Commerce puts it on and one of my BFFs works there. I felt it was our duty to help them out…plus we got to drive around a cool 6-seater RTV! The only probably was at 10 am when we arrived it was 20 degrees. It was colder than that at 8 when she had to be there, but she was getting paid!!! ;)

We were bundled up, but not quite enough and got our assigned RTV and headed to work. Our job was to take people from the parade drop off to their assigned floats, take people from the floats to the restroom (before the parade started), and drive along the parade route telling crazy kids (and adults) to back up off the road. It was an adventurous day to say the least. I don’t have any pictures because I was completely bundled all.day.long! We were finally done around 3 and went home and I was STILL cold! I napped on the couch for a couple of hours and woke up and my legs were STILL cold! Took me awhile to thaw out.

That night we had Kody’s bank Christmas party. It was at the Civic Center and Colton’s catered. It was a really good meal and good visiting amongst the other co-workers. They had a little program with the drama club from the high school putting on an act from A Christmas Carol. They gave out years of service awards and introduced new employees. It was a fun night for sure! Afterwards we went out with one of the couples for a drink to Cafe 37. He is more or less Kody’s mentor so it was fun to talk to him and his wife about things besides work!

We were home fairly early skipping out on another party we were invited too. We go easy on the Christmas cheer this time of year! ;)

I can't hardly function when I get cold! Tonight we went out to dinner and I had to leave my coat on the entire time--I just couldn't handle it! That was so nice of you to help out though! :)
