When It Rains!

Warning, total whine post...

The last few days have been trying on us! We made plans to go see Kody's family and our new nephew this past weekend and Saturday as I was driving into town I had a flat tire! :( A flat on the car we were supposed to leave in 3 hours later. Just my luck it was noon and all tire shops were closed but Wal-Mart. YUCK. I made it to Kody's work and he changed it to my spare and sent me on my way to WM to get it repaired. I left it in hopes it would be done by 3 so I could go home, get the dogs, finish packing, and make it back to town by 3:30 to get Kody.

Mom picked me up and we went to lunch and WM called...supposedly, they couldn't fix the tire and wanted to sell me a new one. Poor souls didn't know what kind of tightwad they were dealing with. I declined, told them to leave the spare on it, and I would be back for it. Luckily we made it to and from Jackson with the spare (which was UGLY, but a full size tire). My cell phone starting whacking out Saturday night and continued through Sunday to the point where I now have a replacement (2nd one...). We drove home Sunday in a rush to get to our Dave Ramsey class at 6 with no spare tire and no cell phones. Mine turned off and refused to turn on and Kody's was dead. Thankfully we didn't need a phone, but I was nervous the whole ride home....we were able to get it repaired thankfully....and didn't have to throw out $100 for a new tire.

...Sunday morning....9 am....Bo is out front with Kody's dad. He saw another dog across the street and ran down to him and the dog attacked him. He ran back crying and then acted ok. We all left not long after that and didn't notice that Bo had a HUGE chunk bit out of his side. Didn't notice until 2:30 when we were loading to come home...He was bloody, in pain, and we were helpless. We couldn't get ahold of the emergency vet so we hoped he would be fine til early morning and he was. $240 later he is sewed up and acting normal, except we have to give him 3 pills twice a day....and how do we do that? Our dogs NEVER get people food, so we have to do it smart and he doesn't even like the people food...so that's going real crappy. It's also a full time job making sure he doesn't jump up and wrestle with Jax like he likes to do. This is a crappy quality picture, but it was taken with my phone and Bo rarely stands still...here's his boo boo stitched up. Which by the way not sure how they did it, there was nothing to stitch, it was literally a chunk and you could see his white muscles...ewww

A friend of Kody's from his childhood and a best friend to his sister and friend to the family died unexpectedly yesterday morning. There are never enough answers for why something like that happens. It's heartbreaking for his family. Kody's parents were supposed to come visit this weekend, but the funeral is Saturday so they need to be there for that. I wish we could go but Kody's vacation days are used up and it's next to impossible for him to get off on Saturdays. :We probably won't see any of them until June when we go on vacation. Their weekends fill up faster than ours do and they are busy for the next month!

Kody and his dad bought a trailer to haul cars/trucks/whatever on and we've had it since the end of March. Someone (Kody!!) did not take care of the sales tax and put the papers aside and so now we owe an extra $75 on top of what it already is. Glorious. If I had enough money to do everything that needs to be done at our house I would be in good shape. Unfortunately that hasn't happened.

This is my blog and I will whine when I want to...just FYI. Some days are better than others.
