This is the first normal week I've had in a few weeks! No more anticipating the holidays, overeating (dang!), and goofing off at work. It's back to normal. Doesn't sound like much fun does it? Well, I do love my job and am slightly glad to see a new year begin.
New Years Night we went with my parents to see Little Fockers. It was funny, I think I liked the other 2 better, but it was pretty funny! After both of us had been 110% completely lazy ALL DAY long we decided it would be nice to get out of the house for awhile. We slept in, or more I slept in on Saturday. Kody got up about 9, but I kept dozing off and on and finally got up at 10:50! Yikes! I never do that anymore!! My neck and back were stiff! Kody made a big New Year's Day breakfast and we enjoyed it while watching the Passion of the Christ for the first time ever. My brother got us 6 months of Netflix for Christmas. Such a great gift for the winter months!
After the movie we got all excited to get our new tv out of the box and hooked up. We bought the tv back before Thanksgiving as our big Christmas gift to each other. We wanted something larger for our basement than what is upstairs. We got a 46' Samsung, but the majority of it was bought with wedding gift cards from Wal-Mart. So it was actually a steal for us. Since we didn't have anywhere to set it, we waited until after Christmas. Kody got a nice stand from my parents for Christmas and had it put together...so we were ready to go. So we thought.
We got it out of the box, hooked up to everything and turned it on and were both so confused. There were all these colored lines on it all crazy-like on the screen. Finally we noticed at one of the corners a spider-web like crack. You couldn't see the crack, but could see the colors spider-web out. It was broke. :( We packed it all up, got the receipt, and loaded it in the car. We thought we would make an easy trade-off after church at Wal-Mart. Not so fast.
Church was great, perfect way to start out 2011. Sunday School we had a guest speaker, one of the older men that attend our church. He talked on apologetics. It was really interesting and we're going to have him for a few weeks talk about ways to defend your faith, especially when asked questions by children.
Afterwards we headed straight to Wal-Mart. No more TVs like that, they had one that was a Black Friday tv with 120 hz instead of 60 hz. Makes no difference for us because we aren't big gamers. They wouldn't trade evenly, even though they were dying to get rid of the several boxes with big Christmas stuff on them. They wanted us to pay extra and we refused, said we had paid enough. They didn't offer to order us one, just told us we could drive 45 minutes to another store and get one there. So we left, not really happy, and drove to Mtn. Grove to get another tv. I almost made them plug it in in the store to make sure it was ok. It was fine and we love it!
I haven't watched much on it yet, I am now dying for a new couch set/sectional down there. The one we have now is a hand-me-down I bought and not really comfy. Hopefully by April we'll have a new sectional down there. We may watch the Biggest Loser down there tonight though! Kody is enjoying it and his new Wii games he got for Christmas...speaking of Wii game, one of the games I got him wouldn't read. So where were we again last night? Stinkin' Wal-Mart and their return line. I'm sick of that place!!! I forgot to get virus software so I will be heading back there today sometime!
Sunday evening we had our last Christmas celebration with my Mom's family! We all met for dinner and exchanged gifts! I wish I had pictures, but left the camera in the car! :(
Tonight we are ignoring the fact it is January and COLD out and going to bbq chicken! We're ready for spring and summer! :)
The Bachelor started last night. I watched the first season with Brad and was slightly disappointed when he was chosen again. Scratch that, I like him. He's obviously not bad to look at and I mean, better him not choose a girl, than choose one and it fall apart in a few weeks. There were some crazies on the show! I liked Ashley S. and her sweet NC accent and Emily from WV. I did enjoy seeing all the dark-haired girls on there. There was a fair share of blondes, but the dark haired girls stood out to me! Fang girl was a freak!

I agree that the fang girl creeped me out. Still wondering about that.
