Dress-Up Friday!

Instead of casual Friday, we're having dress-up Friday here at work today. We are wearing costumes and there are some pretty creative ones! I love having parties at work, we get to eat a TON of food and visit most of the day. :-)
I'm wearing my cousin's ladybug costume. It's been a big hit and believe it or not, I've worn the wings all day. I made sugar cookies that looked like leaves to bring along. People get BIG into the food. We had deer meat, breakfast casseroles, lasagna, cookies, cakes, brownies, cheeseballs, etc! Hello Heaven! I think I am sick!
My friend here at work is a 60's flower child. Her outfit is really cute. Here we are with another girl, Greek Goddess, and our building inspector, who was a gangster! I thought my outfit would be really easy to figure out. I have several guys (go figure!) think I was a Devil (um, no), bubble bee (aren't they black & yellow?), and a butterfly.....Wow! Sorry the flash is popping out of Melanie's head!

Here is another group shot of my hallway. The picture is above is of my friends from the other hallway, wish they worked on the quiet side with me! They are fun!

I have finished Week 7 of Couch to 5k!! I will admit I am sore and tired, but I did it! I also jogged each day outside. Like I said in the post before, that was huge for me because we don't have a paved road. I feel so good after doing it! I will try to do next week outside also, as long as it's cool enough. I like not sweating much!

We met my mom and dad at Ruby Tuesdays last night for dinner. I love their chicken Parmesan pasta...tasty! We had a really good time and visit. Mom and I are going to meet my brother in Springfield tomorrow for lunch and a little shopping around. Hopefully we can make a stop at Orange Leaf for some frozen yogurt!!

Tonight we are finally carving pumpkins! We do this every year and normally we do it much earlier, but we've been swamped! Last year was a week before we got married and we carved our new monogram... kTm, but this year we are going to carve a German Shepherd for our boys! Is this not cute or what? I wish my boys were still little puppies like this dog! And I know you may be thinking he looks big, but he's still a little dog compared to my monsters! We are celebrating Courtney's birthday and carving tonight with Hannah and Hunter. We're just getting pizza. I have missed those kids and Kody has too! They have already carved a couple of small pumpkins, and H for Hunter and a J for Judd...that's what Hannah wanted. Look how proud they are! Hunter is always SO hot and prefers to run around like this. I said I would want to carve pumpkins in what he's wearing! ;) We're participating in our church's Trunk or Treat on Sunday! We'll be going as bikers...Kody's going to load his saddle bags with candy! ;) I will get a picture!

I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!!

2 Awesome Things!

I have to post on 2 really cool things! At least to me! Ok, Monday night I was exhausted. Didn't get a ton of sleep all weekend and went to sleep really late Sunday night. I was ready to be home and be lazy! I made dinner and we ate and had to eat in the living room because there was so much crap on the kitchen table....still from our house being in array from the trim being done!
We were just finishing up dinner when my Dad called and said he was at the farm and getting ready to deliver a calf. He told us to come watch if we wanted to. I was really content sitting in the house on the really windy night, but, Kody had been inside all day doing touch-ups and hanging doors, etc, that he needed to get out of the house. So we did! I'm glad we did too. We got there and it wasn't long before Dad had to pull the little calf! So cute, even though it was kind of yucky. My Dad was in the fence with the cow and my Grandpa was outside the fence. When I took the picture of the calf coming out it the flash scared my Grandpa so bad I thought he was going to have a heart attack. He thought my Dad had been electrocuted! Which, would have been horrible, but I couldn't help but giggle because it scared him that bad. The picture may be a little graphic for some of you, but it was a neat thing to see! Last night I knew I needed to start Week 7 of Couch to 5k! I just wasn't feeling it, but know that it's so nice to start on Tuesday and go through Thursday and have the weekend off. I just was in a funk and didn't want to go to the basement and do it. I decided I would try and see how outside went. With the last 3 weeks it is easy to keep time because it's just 25, 28, and then 30 minute blocks of jogging per week. I started outside and did my warm up walk and then went at it. I DID IT! There were SO many times I could have stopped or walked, but I didn't. On the treadmill I hook myself up the the emergency pull-out thing and can't stop. I could have easily stopped, but kept going! Now, here's the kicker. My road is NOT paved, yes, it's gravel. No, I don't live in the middle of nowhere...but it is gravel. And there are hills! More than I realized after I jogged it last night.
Point for me! Just had to toot my own horn. I couldn't jog to the mailbox next door (which is about 100 yards away...) I will attempt it again tonight! Is anyone else doing C25k? When did you transition outside? Did you go to flat surfaces? Just curious!
I hope everyone has a great night....I bought SATC II today at lunch. I hope I have enough time tonight to watch it. Oh and Teen Mom...anyone see that last night? Wow....! Race car suit wedding. Watch.it.now!

I was Tagged!

Amy at A Southern Love tagged me in this survey and I thought I would go ahead with it this morning!

{1}: If you could be in any tv show when you were a kid what would it be?
Oh, I love tv! It's an escape for me! I would definitely love to be part of Full House. This is my all-time favorite show! They could have used a 4th daughter...

I would have also loved to have been the 4th daughter on the Brady Bunch!!!

And it would have been great to be Zack Morris's other girlfriend on Saved by the Bell!

And, now that I am an adult, I'd love to be friends with Samantha, Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda!!!
{2}: What has been your favorite Christmas gift as a child?
I honestly can't pinpoint just ONE thing! I have received MANY great Christmas gifts!

{3}: What actress would you want to play you if your life was a movie?Well, after seeing how feisty she was in Blind Side, I will have to go with Sandra Bullock!

{4}: What decade fad do you wish would come back?
Maybe not this revealing, but it's the day SATC 2 comes out on video, so this is my tribute!

{5}:What song describes your life?
I really don't know! Way too many to think of!

{6}: What was your favorite subject in school?

English! I loved writing papers and learning about language arts!

October 24, 2010: Anniversary

I know I did a year in review of our married life, but I forgot to post about our actual Anniversary!

We went to church and Sunday School like normal on Sunday. After church we changed clothes and had some fall pictures taken. I was adamant on having pictures yesterday. I thought it would be neat to show us a year later in the same exact spot we took wedding pictures. The weather cooperated and didn't rain, so we got some good shots. Kody wasn't being overly cooperative, so we only got a few, but the ones we got were good! The leaves were much prettier a year ago! They were bright orange, yellow, and red. This year we haven't had much rain and it hasn't been as cool, but they are still pretty. The second service was going on so we didn't get any standing where we were in last year's picture because cars were parked there. Here are a few others...
We had lunch together at our favorite spot, El Charro's. I have realized I talk a lot about that place. We are limited to restaurants here and it's our favorite! :) We then rested for awhile at home. Saturday was a grueling, long day for both of us. We were up by 6, Kody worked from 7:30 to 7!! and I helped the lady paint trim at our house. Once he got home we took a break for dinner and continued to work and put back together part of the house until after 10! I was up for church by 6:45....little sleep and rest over the weekend!! We went for a motorcycle ride Sunday afternoon. We ended up in Alton, a small nearby town that I have never been to. No reason to go because it's SO small and there's not much there, plus the roads are super curvy. It was a pretty ride though seeing the fall colors. I had fun on the back of the bike with my camera.....my little camera. I had it tight around my wrist!! I believe there is parts of God's Country in each county/town. We definitely saw some of God's Country in Oregon County! I know this is ALL God's Country, but you get what I'm saying...I hope.
Alton is a little town...there wasn't much to see, but we wondered around the downtown area for awhile.
On our way home we stopped at the Conservation Department in WP and went on the little trail. We enjoyed that! Perfect weather for a nice ride and a little hiking!
We had dinner at my parent's house and then went home to break into our wedding cake top tier! I was nervous it would be nasty, but believe it or not, it was incredible! It tasted like we had just bought it!! Super moist and REALLY good! I had some for breakfast and will probably eat on it all week! :!!
We had a great first anniversary! It's crazy it has already been a YEAR! No telling where we will be next year and what will be going on! Stay tuned!

First Anniversary!!

Yesterday marked one year of wedded bliss for Kody and I! We had a great day and will celebrate more soon on our trip to Hermann!

Everyone says the first year is the hardest, but if this is what was hard, we have had it made. We've had some really good times. I am so thankful for our friends inviting us to Sunday School in January. That totally changed the way we think each day and made our marriage even better. Here's a brief look at the last year!
In November we hosted the Prewett family Thanksgiving at our house. We worked for days cleaning and setting up. Kody fried a turkey and I made way too much food. It was a success. I think we may let MaMa do the hosting again this year though! :) Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, it involves my 2 favorite things...family & food. In December we hosted a Christmas dinner at our house with the Hambys. We went to look at Christmas lights afterwards. We had my work Christmas party, the York's Christmas gathering, a visit from my favorite in-laws, celebrated Josh's birthday, and some days off!
We spent Christmas Eve together in West Plains. Kody and I had never in our 6 years of dating spent Christmas Eve or Christmas day together because we were both with our families. We had planned on having Christmas with my family Christmas Eve after Christmas Eve service. My mom unfortunately came down with the stomach flu. Kody, my brother, and I went to Christmas Eve service and then over to my Aunt Judy's for our traditional Christmas Eve gathering! We had a good time, just hated mom was sick. We spent the next day at Mom & Dad's (she was better) opening gifts with the Prewett extended family and then later with Mom, Dad, and Alex. We were able to wake up on Christmas morning at our own house and have Christmas together by ourselves. That meant a ton to both of us. We actually woke up EARLY Christmas morning about 2 a.m. to smoke alarms going off and our entire house FILLED with smoke. The power had gone off to make matters worse and more scary. Our wood furnace had back-drafted because the outside wind was so strong. It was filling our house with smoke. We had no choice but to open the windows and woke up later that morning with it at 52 degrees in the house! PRETTY CHILLY! And snow on the ground!I love this picture of the 3 'triplets' and Clark Griswold in the background...

We celebrated in Jackson on December 26th. Kody regretfully had to work on the 26th and we couldn't make it any sooner. January slowed down! We rang in New Years 2010 with Josh & Ashley. We had dinner at Rockbridge and they came back to our house where us girls barely made it to 2010. We visited Jackson once and went to a bonfire at Susan & Dwain's house. It's always great to see family in once place that way we aren't running all over when we visit. We had quite a bit of snow and I sold my Aztek in January! We were officially on the quest for our first big purchase as a married couple. (We bought our house before we got married!) I found my car in February after a trip to STL to visit Jess Ladd. Kody and I went back a week later to pick it up and finalize things. We spent Valentine's day with Kaci and Luke in St. Louis. I was a good wife and we went to Growler's Pub for V-day dinner. I didn't care, I just got a new car!

In March we made another trip to Jackson and began thinking about our garden! We were attending church every Sunday and loving it! We went to a Dinner with the Pastors night and Kody decided to join FUMC. We also had the big fire behind our house. Thank goodness, there was little hard done! Kody joined the church on April 17, 2010. His parents were there to watch, it was a great day. We planted our garden that day also. We broke in Summer 2010 at Kentucky Lake for Memorial Day. We had a great time, always do in Kentucky! In June Kody turned 25! We celebrated with his parents at lunch that day as they were coming through town. He got a gas grill and we used that thing like crazy over the summer! We had dinner with my parents at El Charro's and drinks afterwards at Colton's. He had a great day. I got him a personalized Bible and he was in love with it! Kody's siblings and Drew all came for a visit in June also. We had a great time! In July we ventured back to Jackson to celebrate our nephew's 2nd Birthday. Drew is a firecracker and oddly enough was born on the Fourth of July! In August we went on our Sunday School float trip and I turned 24! We pretty much just enjoyed life until October! We've been busy working on our house, inside and outside. This year has been everything we dreamed of and just a little more. I can't wait to spend the years to come with Kody. He makes each day complete and there isn't a day that goes by without us laughing hysterically together. We are good for that. I kept thinking about one of the songs sang at our wedding, When God Made You.......he definitely was thinking about me when he made Kody!
Here's to many more! XO!
