Homecoming!

Well, I've been busy! Surprise, surprise. This past Sunday I had to go to Tan-Tar-A for a Missouri Municipal League Conference. I got my own room! (Sorry that's a big deal, ususally I share.) It was myself, Dixie (finance director/my partner), 3 of our council members, the Mayor, and our City Administrator (my boss). Their spouses all went and we had a really good time. The sessions were kind of boring, but everything else was fun. We went to a nice dinner Sunday night and then Monday after the sessions, Dixie and I went shopping. I bought our last lamp! I had extra wedding $$ and wanted to finish up our bedroom lamps so bad! Now they are both in there and they look great. We stopped off at Panera and ate before we went back to the resort. We were dead tired, but decided to go down to Casino Night, which was hosted by a company...it was fake money and you either played craps or black jack and won cheap prizes...there was free food & booze. I played bartender for our councilmen/wives while they were at the black jack table.

We finally got home Tuesday night about 6. Kody has been working on my car since Monday night. It had a pretty bad leak in something and he's got it done. He drove it today to make sure it all is good, but should be...

Last night I was so tired but I always get new energy when I get home. I made dinner, did all of the laundry, wrapped our parents gifts for the wedding, wrapped all of Kody's groomsmen's gifts, and went to bed on time! I still have to wrap the bridesmaid's gifts, but hope to get that done Saturday.

Friday is homecoming in West Plains...a holiday in my book. I love, love homecoming. My focus this year has been on other things (surprise, surprise), and it's supposed to rain hard on Friday!! :( Which means the parade will be a wet one. And probably the game too. I'm going to try to get Kody to go to the game, I love to see the girls in their pretty dresses on the field. Kody just doesn't care about high school football...thanks to his #$^%$%^ coach in high school, CARL GROSS. He ruined it for me enjoying football with Kody!! That's what you do in West Plains on Friday nights in the fall...go to the game (despite their crappy record like this year) and see everyone. Only people from a small town get it, and I love it.

Saturday I've gotta clean the house a little and get ready for a fashion show that evening. I'm modeling some new Vera Bradley for At Home Market. And I'm sure I will be doing wedding stuff in there somewhere. The wedding is in 16 days, how exciting!! Our programs are getting printed today and they are awesome. I still have nerve gitters each day, but I couldn't be more excited. Can't wait til all our family & friends are here!
